This may be better than both community rendering and a managed farm for custom Blender builds, unusual scripts, proprietary plug-ins, simulations, or broader GPU tasks. It also moves setup, licensing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and shutdown responsibility to the customer. Hours spent configuring or waiting may be billable.

Do not place its hourly node rate next to a managed farm’s render charge without recording the difference in service responsibility.

The hidden denominators

Deadline and capacity

Community capacity changes with participation and demand. A paid farm can also queue work or have constrained capacity, so payment is not a guarantee. Ask each service for the actual priority rule, capacity visibility, deadline commitment, and failure-recovery path.

User time
